Sooz’s Style Guide ~ Summer 2019 Top Picks

I’ve been posting a lot of my fave outfits on my Instagram feed at hey.its.sooz so I thought I’d share some of my summer picks with you all.

Now some of these outfits can easily slide in to a fall wardrobe because most of the clothes I wear are multi season and versatile. I’m a busy Mama. I don’t have a lot of time to mess around with switching out clothes seasonally.

These picks are from two of my favorite places to shop, Target and Amazon (am I a predictable Mom or what?!)

I was going to add a few Gap and Old Navy picks but that will have to wait because I promised my kids I’d make cookies!

Universal Thread Target Dress

I received a ton of dm’s when I posted this beautiful Universal Thread Target Dress on my Instagram. I’m pretty obsessed with it. It’s just the right length. The right fabric feel. The right color (Blush Pink FOREVER!). Feminine, flirty and perfect for spring, summer or fall. I also love that you could wear this to virtually anything. Work, date night, wedding, picnic. It’s pretty versatile. Target also has this dress in cream and this gorgeous burnt orange color which I may buy. Another bullseye for #targetstyle

Swedish Hasbeen Heeled Sandals

This loupe magnifying tool on a mac is my favorite. Namely because I think it makes my posey pictures look ridiculous and I kinda like that. Anyway, my sister Chels actually talked me in to getting these Swedish Hasbeen Heeled Sandals. Apparently they are/were (I’m always a little late on the fashion game) the IT shoe in L.A. and one of my favorite Flagstaff shops, Shoes and Such had them on clearance last year so I snagged a pair and I have to say they are pretty comfy for a heeled clog. Plus they kind of go with everything. And, every time I wear them I get comments on them. They come in a bazillion colors. I love the nature color. I may have to grab another pair!

Universal Thread Half Moon Fanny Pack

Two things I’m so happy made a comeback are the scrunchie and the FANNY PACK! You guys, is this Universal Thread Half Moon Fanny Pack the cutest thing you’ve ever seen!!! I love the half moon shape. So chic. It’s just big enough for your cell, keys, lipstick and money. I wore this like a belt. Fully laced in the belt loops of my skinny overalls. I can’t tell you how much I freaking LOVED being hands free. I went to a friends birthday party at a restaurant/bar and didn’t have to lug around a purse and juggle a drink. It was brilliant! Hey @target I want this in black please.

Any Day Target Tank Top

I could have easily just cropped this picture but it amused me to make myself look like a bobble head. So I have this Any Day Target Tank Top in 6 colors. It’s probably the best tank top I’ve ever owned. It’s stretch but soft and it’s just cut perfect. It often goes on sale for $5 bucks! But normally it’s $8. I mean what a deal right! My favorite colors are blush pink (duh), the army green, white, grey and I have this cutesy little striped one.

Target Linen Suit Jacket and Shorts

You know what’s great about having sisters? You get to borrow all of their cool clothes! My sister Chelsea had just bought this outfit for a trip to the UK. But she knew I had a show to attend with the hubby so she, being the kind soul she is, let me wear her brand new Target Linen Suit Jacket  & Target Linen Shorts That’s love you guys! This is a linen blend outfit that is so cute with heels and so amazingly comfy yet chic. FYI, this is sold separately hence the two separate links. It just went clearance guys so get on over and see if they have your size! (Oh and a P.S… the tank top is the Any Day Target Tank Top in green!)

Target Rainbow Sweatshirt

I wish I had a better picture of this sweatshirt but I do have a great story about it. I took my oldest to her first day of high school. I’m not gonna lie, I shop in the juniors department A LOT! So this particular day I had on skinny jeans, my hair in an Ariana Grande ponytail with a scrunchie and this Target Rainbow Sweatshirt. As I’m in the car driving Livi to her first day I said “I should have dressed more motherly today and less like a kid”. She didn’t give a flying fork what I was saying because she was about to be thrown in the lions den known as freshman year at a new school. So as we were walking in a young girl, an actual student, was walking right towards us with her Mom. And of course, Murphy’s law, this poor teen was wearing my exact Target sweatshirt! I almost yelled out “TWINSIES!” but luckily stopped my own awkward Mom vibes before I embarrassed the both of us. In my head I felt so bad for the kid. In her head she was probably like “What the F!!!! Mom’s are wearing these clothes now too?! Why?!!!!) Poor kid. The lesson is that I’ll try to tone it down for kids functions…(FYI, I will never tone it down. I wear what I like. What’s comfortable. I could care less that I look like a high schooler. At my age, I encourage it!) In retrospect I should have worn my converse but that may have been pushing it. lol.

Toad and Co. Rosemarie Dress

This little Toad and Co. Rosemarie Dress comes in a bunch of colors but it’s the cut of this dress that I seem to love. It’s simple, organic cotton, and just so damn comfortable. It washes beautifully. It’s what I would consider a “You’re traveling through Europe in the summer dress”. And my favorite neckline is a v-neck so this dress checks all of the boxes for me.

Toad and Co Wrap Cafe Dress

I just found this dress and I LOVE it!!! It’s another Toad and Co Wrap Cafe Dress. I haven’t found time to get a couple snaps in it so this nice young lady will be modeling it for me. It also comes in a bunch of colors and I just love the detail of the wrap tie. I actually tied it wrong the first time. I tied it behind me like an apron and actually I kind of liked it that way. The neck line is just a hair lower so you may want to add a cami or tank under it but I like it as is.

Veegal Fashion Travel Backpack

I’m a sucker for backpacks. This is not a mini. It’s a full size Veegal Fashion Travel Backpack but this green is my number two favorite color these days and it’s SO affordable that I couldn’t resist this lovely. For me it’s perfect for work or for a weekender pack. I think it would be a great travel pack too. If somebody could make this a mini my life would be made.

So tell me friends, what is your favorite place to shop for clothes? Send me some new inspiration!

Happy shopping my friends. I will try to do a follow up with Fall clothes soon!

xoxo, Sooz

I’ve been loving the Time & Tru brand from Walmart recently! Very cute stuff (definitely not what you think of when you think Walmart clothes) and cheap prices. I even bought two pair of ballet flats from there in black and leopard print with memory foam insoles, and loved them – and I don’t usually buy inexpensive shoes due to foot and knee issues. Check out @whoawaitwalmart on Instagram for other stuff from them (not affiliated with me, I’m just a fan).

Awesome! Thanks for the tip. Target and Walmart have really upped their fashion game recently. Nice for us bargain shoppers! xoxo, S
