Hey there friends! I’m Sooz. Also known as Susie or Susan but to those closest to me…simply Sooz. Thanks for stopping by my little blog!
I’m not going to lie, this page seems to be giving me grief. Summing up who you are in a bio is tough business. So let’s get down to the basics.
I’m a working Mom (yup, I have a full time job as a Director for a non profit. How does she have the time to blog, you say?! Me too!) I am a wife to a working musician who travels the globe with world class bands. I’m a Mom to three amazing, kind hearted, hysterical, at times annoying but always loving kids. I spend the majority of my days juggling the hell out of many balls. We live in a sweet mountain town in Northern Arizona in a tiny log cabin that is way too small for our family of five.
Our life is often a contradiction. Best described by the incomparable Donny and Marie Osmond…”we’re a little bit country, and a little bit rock-n-roll”. My husband travels (a lot!) for his job which sometimes leaves me single momming it for sometimes months at a time. While he’s traveling the world singing for the masses I stay home with our littles and keep the home fires burning. Raising a teen, a preteen and a kindergartener can be pretty hectic but like all busy, working parents we juggle and we make it work. It’s a strange life which I’ll attempt to explain in the “My Life as a Musician Wife” section of this blog.
Things I love and you will most likely read about in this blog: FOOD! personal style, beauty products, tiny cabin living, gardening, health and wellness, 70’s soft rock hits, 80’s pop culture, Target (duh), oh yeah.. my family and… OK so as you can see I’m all over the map which isn’t what you’re supposed to blog about (pick a topic they say) but I like a lot of stuff so whatever. This is my blog and I love variety!
I live with two super fun and exciting autoimmune disorders, Hashimotos and IBS. Both are pretty crappy (pun intended) and one is pretty embarrassing to talk about but this blog is about putting myself out there and sharing what works for me and what I’ve learned in hopes that someone out there in cyber land will relate so I will be sharing out my thoughts on this. (Btw, IBS is not officially an autoimmune disorder but I feel somehow that it’s connected but we’ll get in to that later.)
I used to blog back in the early days of Mom Blogs and I loved my little writing outlet but for reasons I will self analyze and blog about later I suddenly quit. But now I’m back and more inspired than ever to share my journey through this thing called life with you all. (Prince will always be quotable)
My tagline is “Perfectly Imperfect in Every Way” because like most busy working Mom’s out there I’m just chugging along, trying to pay the bills, figure out what the heck I’ll make for dinner and just trying to keep these kids alive all while looking for the joy (and laughter) in every day. And for me, that’s pretty darn perfect.
So with all that welcome to my little corner of the internet. I hope you stick around and follow my story and above all I hope you leave with a smile on your face!
-Sooz
Oh and P.S.: So I love exclamation points! You’ll see a lot of them in my posts. I’m not yelling at you, I’m just super excited!!!!!! I also use So at the beginning of sentences a lot. If you’re looking for perfect grammar this blog may not be for you. Remember…perfectly imperfect in every way!
